Description

Edinburgh born winger Peter Logan started his football career with junior club Alva Albion Rangers in 1906 before joining Scottish League St Bernard’s in 1907. Within a year he had joined First Division Bradford City, where he spent the next 16 years as a player. He made his Football League debut against Sunderland in October 1908 and from 1909 was a regular in the side, playing in 7 cup ties and scoring against Norwich City in a Second Round tie as The Bantams historically beat Newcastle United 1-0 in the 1911 FA Cup Final in a replay at Old Trafford, after a 0-0 draw at The Crystal Palace. The FA Cup triumph remains Bradford’s only major honour. Logan played both sides of the First World War, and although they were relegated in 1922 he continued to play in the Second Division, making his final appearance of 305, having scored 43 goals, in April 1925, aged 36. He later joined the Bradford City coaching staff.

His older brother Jimmy Logan also played for St Bernard’s and Bradford City, and also Chesterfield and Bradford Park Avenue.
