Description

Edinburgh born centre forward Morgan Mackay began his football career with Clerwood Amateurs from where he joined Scottish League amateur club Queens Park in 1929. He was on Plymouth Argyle’s books in 1930-31 and Northampton Town’s in 1932-33 without making the first team at either club, and played for Dundee from 1933 to 1935, when he returned to English football with Barnsley, making his Football League debut, and only appearance for The Tykes in a heavy defeat at former club Plymouth Argyle in October 1935. Mackay joined Queen of the South in 1936 and was a trialist at Leith Athletic in 1937, his last known involvement in professional football.
