Description

Catrine, Ayrshire born inside forward David Manson joined Ayr in 1891 and played for little remembered Scottish League club Thistle in 1893 before joining Second Division Rotherham Town in the 1894 close season, for whom he made his Football League debut against Burton Wanderers in September that year, scoring 5 goals in 20 appearances during a single season with Rotherham.

He joined Leicester Fosse in 1895 and scored 8 goals in 25 appearances before joining Lincoln City in October 1896. But after only a single goal in 6 matches for The Imps he joined non league Bacup at the start of 1897, playing for Warmley later the same year. He had a spell with Southern League Gravesend United in 1898, moving to Rushden in 1899 before finishing his career with Coalville Town in 1900.
