Description

Glasgow born inside right Johnny McIntyre started with Partick Thistle in 1912, playing for them both sides of World War One, during which he guested for Vale of Leven and St Mirren (where he made 2 appearances in 1915-16) before moving to Second Division Fulham in 1919, making his Football League debut against South Shields that August and scoring the only goal of the game. After less than one season and 9 goals in 26 games at Craven Cottage he signed for Sheffield Wednesday in March 1921, for whom he scored 36 goals in 70 appearances including a hat-trick against Coventry City in a 3-0 win that September at Hillsborough.

In January 1922 he moved to Blackburn Rovers where in 5 years he played 194 games scoring 38 goals, including 4 against Everton in September 1922. He finished his career with half a season at Second Division Blackpool for whom he signed in January 1928, where he managed just 6 games in January and February 1928, scoring twice against West Bromwich Albion and Bristol City before joining non league Chorley later in 1928.
