Description

Grimsby, Lincolnshire born outside right Jack Meredith began his senior football career with Midland League club Scunthorpe & Lindsey United in 1922 from where he signed for MajorĀ Frank Buckley’s Second Division club Blackpool in the 1923 close season, making his Football League debut on 6th October 1923 in a 2-2 draw at Sheffield Wednesday. He went on to appear in all but one of the remaining 33 League games of the 1923-24 season, scoring 3 goals as Blackpool finished fourth in the division. The following campaign, 1924-25, Meredith missed only one of Blackpool’s 49 League and Cup games. He scored seven League goals and three in the FA Cup, his career best return.

In 1925-26, Meredith achieved his highest League goals tally of his time with The Seasiders. His final appearance for the club came on 31st March 1928, in a 4-0 defeat at Leeds United. In total he scored 31 goals in exactly 200 appearances for Blackpool.
