The exact identity (or even initial) of Chesterfield Town’s trainer is uncertain, however it could well be Thomas Needham, as a player an inside forward who had scored 3 goals in 16 matches for Derby County during their first two Football League seasons between 1888 and 1889 and had subsequently played for Burton Swifts.
