Description
The early career of Trehafod, Rhondda born left half Henry Picton is unknown, but his senior career began at Third Division (South) club Bournemouth & Boscombe Athletic, for whom he made his Football League debut against Northampton Town in April 1937, He played 7 matches for The Cherries before a move to Third Division (North) club Crewe Alexandra in the 1938 close season, for whom he scored his only career goal in a defeat at Hull City in April 1939. After 28 matches for The Railwaymen including a pair of matches in the abandoned 1939-40 season, his career was effectively ended by the outbreak of the Second World War in September 1939.
