Irthlingborough, Northamptonshire born left back Harry Pullen began his football career with Kettering WMC, from where he joined Northamptonshire League club Kettering, playing for them as they re-joined the Southern League in 1909-10 before he was signed by Southern League club Queens Park Rangers in 1910, playing for Rangers for five seasons until the onset of the First World War forced the suspension of peacetime football, and during the War Pullen served in the Armed Forces.
With the conflict over he re-joined Rangers for their final season in the Southern League, but he joined newly elected Third Division (South) club Newport County in June 1920, playing in their inaugural League match against Reading that August. However he lost his place in December and played a handful of matches before the season end, joining Hartlepools United in June 1921 after 23 appearances for The Exiles. He spent 1921-22 at The Victoria Ground without making Hartlepools’ first eleven, re-joining Kettering in 1922, his final known club before his eventual retirement.
