Description

Leeds born inside right Trevor Rhodes started his football career with Castleford Town in 1926 and Yorkshire Amateurs in 1927 before joining Second Division Bradford Park Avenue in November 1928, making his Football League debut against Reading in March 1929. He broke through into the Avenue team in 1930-31, scoring 20 goals in only 24 appearances, but despite a further 12 goals in 1931-32 he remained mainly a fringe player, and left Park Avenue in June 1933 to join Port Vale after 41 goals in 61 appearances. He had 5 seasons at The Old Recreation Ground, which included scoring the winner against First Division Champions Sunderland in an FA Cup Third Round replay at The Old Recreation Ground in January 1936. After 29 goals in 147 appearances for The Valiants, he was released from his contract in the summer of 1938.
