Scotswood, Newcastle upon Tyne born right back Tommy Robson began his senior football career with Second Division club Stockport County, for whom he made his Football League debut at Preston North End in March 1915, his only appearance for The Hatters before peacetime football was suspended due to the onset of the First World War that May. After the War Robson returned to Edgeley Park and was a near ever present in County’s first peacetime campaign in 1919-20, missing just one match. He missed 5 matches in 1920-21as Stockport County were relegated but lost his place after 13 matches of their 1921-22 campaign, which ended in their winning the Third Division (North) Championship at the first attempt. Robson made his final appearance of 94 in a 5-4 home defeat to Leicester City in August 1922 and his career after leaving Stockport County is unknown.
