Description
Fleetwood, Lancashire born inside right William Sandham started playing for hometown junior club Fleetwood Athletic in 1919 after the First World War had ended, joining Lancashire Combination club Fleetwood in 1920 before moving to First Division Blackburn Rovers later that year, making his Football League debut for Rovers at Burnley in January 1921, scoring in a 4-1 defeat. He made 3 more appearances for Rovers before joining Third Division (North) club Rochdale in May 1922, where scored 7 times in 23 appearances for ‘Dale before returning to Fleetwood in 1923, also later playing for Fleetwood Windsor Villa in 1929 before his eventual retirement.
