Description
Sheffield born inside forward Jackie Slater joined Swansea Town after the First World War making his Football League debut against Queen’s Park Rangers in October 1920. In 2 seasons at The Vetch Field he scored 3 goals in 10 appearances before joining Southend United in the 1922 close season. He was a virtual ever present during his first 2 seasons at Roots Hall, scoring 18 goals in 99 appearances before joining non league Grays Thurrock United in 1925.
