Description
Burnham-on-Crouch, Essex born full back Alec Tunbridge played for Burnham-on-Crouch from 1927 before joining local professional club Southend United as an amateur in 1930, making his Football League debut in a 3-2 win at Bristol Rovers in January 1931, also playing 3 days later in a 6-2 victory over Newport County. But he lost his place and didn’t feature again for a further year, when he played in a 4-0 defeat at Gillingham in January 1932. This proved his last game as a professional footballer, and his playing career thereafter is uncertain.
