Description
Right half George “Dick” Whittington is known to have been at Brighton & Hove Albion and to have played first team football during Brighton’s 1910-11 season and was still on the club’s books for the 1914-15 season, although he didn’t appear that season, the final peacetime season before the onset of the First World War forced the suspension of peacetime football. He was later a groundsman at The Goldstone Ground. Full biography to follow.
